Dirty water contains a high level of contaminants, but is generally free of larger solid particles. Septic tank pumps are a type of dirty-water pump, but they are designed for a specific purpose. They are one of the most important components of wastewater disposal systems in single-family homes, on farms, and in businesses and institutions. These devices enable wastewater to be discharged efficiently and without problems, including from municipal septic tanks. They are submerged deep inside the septic tank, where they pump both treated and untreated wastewater to the required height. Their ability to handle solid contaminant particles distinguishes them from dirty-water pumps. They are also quite often equipped with various types of macerators, which make pumping heavily contaminated wastewater easier.
Both dirty-water pumps and septic tank pumps are extremely useful devices. Before purchasing one, however, it is worth carefully reviewing its specifications, as using it for a purpose other than that for which it was designed may damage the pump.
