GRIX is a grinder pump equipped with a suction-assisted cutting system that enables the shredding of solids. These pumps are used wherever liquid needs to be pumped through relatively small-diameter pipes, often ones that are already installed. Applications: domestic wastewater, dirty water containing solids, and any situation where high pressure is required.
Characteristics
All major components are made of GG25 cast iron. Two separate mechanical seals (the motor side in the oil chamber and the impeller side in contact with the liquid), together with high-quality components, ensure excellent performance and product reliability.
Advantages of GRIX grinder pumps
The vacuum cutting system with a hardened-steel knife in GRIX pumps ensures effective shredding of domestic wastewater contents. Rotating across a perforated plate, the knives work like a meat grinder, cutting everything into small pieces, which makes it possible to pump wastewater through narrow pipes with diameters as small as DN40. The adjustable gap allows the cutting parameters to be controlled and precisely set even after the knives have been sharpened repeatedly. The appropriate positioning of the knife openings prevents several items from being cut simultaneously, which stops the knife from jamming and prevents pump failures.
GRIX grinder pump installations
GRIX pumps are intended for small domestic wastewater pumping stations and compact pumping stations often located inside buildings. Pumps with a radial solids-grinding system can be successfully installed on coupling feet, such as EASY 3.1 or EASY 3.2, in DRENO BOX pumping stations, or on DUTY 50 coupling feet.
Control of a domestic grinder pump
For controlling GRIX pumps, we recommend M121 or M131 controllers (single- or three-phase), or purchasing the pump in a version with a built-in control float. For more demanding customers, we can offer advanced control systems, for example with 3, 4, or 5 floats, a hydrostatic probe, or alarm signal outputs to a terminal block, enabling connection to an external monitoring system.
Like every DRENO wastewater pump, it comes standard with a 10-metre power cable. All GRIX pumps have a side outlet, which means they are compatible with coupling feet such as EASY.
