Valve with 2-inch female thread
Operating description
Ball check valves are used to prevent backflow in a pipe. Flow is stopped by a ball seated in the valve body to form a seal. Ball valves are designed to provide a full-bore passage, thereby avoiding the risk of blockage by suspended solids. As it rotates in the flowing sewage, the ball can clean itself, so the valve very rarely becomes clogged or develops leaks. Ball check valves are recommended for sewage and rainwater pumping stations and for all media that may carry sand, gravel, pieces of cloth, string, etc.
If the valve becomes blocked by non-standard sewage contents, simply unscrew the bolts securing the inspection cover, remove the ball, and clean the inside of the valve. Such work must always be carried out with the pumping station power supply switched off. Before removing the inspection cover, check that the gate valve above the ball check valve is closed so that sewage flowing back from the pipeline does not flood the tank or impede the maintenance worker.
