Valve with 1½ inch internal thread
Description of operation
Ball check valves are used to prevent reverse flow in a pipe. The flow is stopped by a ball that is seated in the valve body to create a seal. Ball valves are designed to allow full port, thus avoiding the risk of blockage by suspended solids. By rotating in the flowing sewage, the ball has the ability to self-clean, so the valve becomes clogged or leaks very rarely. Ball check valves are recommended for sewage and rainwater pumping stations and for all media that may carry with them: sand, gravel, pieces of rags, strings, etc.
If the valve is blocked by abnormal sewage content, simply unscrew the screws securing the inspection cover, remove the ball and clean the contents of the valve. Such work should always be performed with the power to the pumping station turned off. Before removing the inspection cover, check whether the gate valve above the ball check valve is closed so that the returning sewage from the pipeline does not flood the tank and impede the work of the conservator.
