Najważniejsze różnice między pompami głębinowymi i ssącymi

Pumps with different properties are used both in single-family homes and in industrial applications. To choose the optimal device that fully meets specific needs, it is worth learning about the different types of pumps. Among the most popular devices of this kind are submersible and suction pumps. Discover the key differences between them.

Submersible and suction pumps have similar applications, so they are quite often confused with each other. However, although both devices serve similar purposes, they require different operating conditions, and understanding their specific characteristics ensures proper operation.

Submersible Pumps

Submersible pumps are modern devices designed to extract clean water from great depths. They are most commonly used for wells deeper than 8 meters, as well as for water reservoirs. Pumps of this type are used in various irrigation systems, and their numerous advantages make them suitable for use in single-family homes, industrial plants, and farms. They can successfully be used to supply water to pressure, irrigation, and water supply systems, and even to extract mineral or thermal water. Their most important feature is their ability to generate high pressure, which makes them excellent for pumping water from great depths. What is more, they provide adequate pressure at all water outlets.

For a submersible pump to operate, it must be immersed in water. As a result, its operation is not disruptive to the surroundings because the noise is muffled. In addition, the device does not take up space in the home or another building. It is therefore an excellent solution for people who have a well of a suitable diameter, in which the water table allows the pump to be submerged below eight meters. The only disadvantage of the pump is that, in the event of a failure, it requires cumbersome and time-consuming removal.

Suction Pumps

Suction pumps are also designed to deliver water to outlets. The key difference, however, is that they operate without needing to be immersed in water. They are most often installed in a basement, boiler room, or utility room. For this reason, they can be disruptive, as they generate noise that is not muffled. One solution to this problem may be to install the pump in the well, well above the water table. The advantages of these devices include easy installation and accessibility in the event of a failure, allowing minor faults to be repaired independently. Suction pumps also have less power than submersible pumps. They are used for wells where the water table does not exceed 8 meters, as well as when the borehole diameter is too small to allow the installation of a submersible pump.

In summary, submersible and suction pumps are used to supply water to households and industrial plants. The main difference between them is how they operate. Submersible pumps operate while immersed in water, whereas suction pumps must be located outside it.
