WQV7-12-1.1 – submersible sewage grinder pump
The IBO WQV submersible pump with a cutting blade is a series of high-capacity units,
designed for pumping sewage and dirty water free of abrasive particles
abrasive particles such as sand. The AISI 304 stainless steel motor housing and
a rotational speed of 3000 rpm distinguishes this series among grinder pumps.
The built-in float switch automatically controls pump operation, while the overcurrent circuit breaker
mounted on the power cable protects the motor if the cutting blade becomes blocked.
Who is it for
-
Homeowners and landowners – the cutting blade shreds contaminants in the sewage, reducing the risk of clogging when draining a septic tank.
-
Installation and service companies – the built-in float switch automates pump operation without additional control equipment.
-
Municipal facilities and household pumping stations – the series' high capacity facilitates the rapid pumping of larger volumes of sewage.
-
Farms and livestock operations – the pump draws rainwater and surface water, while the cutting blade handles organic contaminants.
Applications
The WQV series of submersible grinder pumps is designed for pumping
sewage and dirty water free of abrasive particles such as sand. The pumps
are used for pumping sewage from household septic tanks and draining flooded rooms,
homes and garages, and are also used in household sewage pumping stations.
The cutting blade shreds solid contaminants in the sewage before pumping it,
reducing the risk of clogging the hose or pipeline. The units operate in a vertical position,
at a maximum pumped liquid temperature of 35°C and a motor speed of
3000 rpm, higher than in typical submersible pumps.
WQV series features
WQV series pumps feature an AISI 304 stainless steel motor housing, which means
it does not corrode when in constant contact with sewage. The impeller housing is made of cast iron
gray, with a steel impeller, and a cutting blade and shaft made of AISI 304 stainless steel.
The overcurrent circuit breaker mounted directly on the power cable cuts off the power supply
trips if the cutting blade is blocked by a hard object, protecting the motor
overload, independently of the thermal protection in the winding. The motor circuit breaker
The float switch automatically controls pump operation and provides basic protection against
dry running.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – WQV submersible grinder pump
What contaminants does the WQV pump shred?
The cutting knife shreds solid and fibrous contaminants in wastewater, reducing
the risk of clogging the hose or pipeline. The pump is not designed for water containing sand
or other abrasive elements.
What is the purpose of the overcurrent circuit breaker on the power cable?
The overcurrent circuit breaker cuts off power to the motor when the cutting knife is blocked by
a hard object, protecting the motor against overload regardless of the thermal
thermal protection built into the winding.
How does the WQV series differ from the CTR series?
The WQV series operates at a higher rotational speed of 3000 rpm and features a motor housing
made of AISI 304 stainless steel, while the CTR uses gray cast iron for the housing
motor and operates at the standard speed of 2850 rpm.
How do I choose the right WQV pump model for my needs?
The model choice depends on the required head and capacity – the series includes
models from 750 W (WQV7-8-0.75) to 1500 W (WQV7-16-1.5), selected according to the scale of the installation.
