Applications
SWQ SEPTIC is designed for environments where other submersible pumps fail – domestic sewage, fecal matter, and water from settling tanks with a pH of 4–10. The gray cast iron Vortex impeller does not come into direct contact with the medium during normal operation – the liquid flows around the impeller due to the vortex effect, minimizing abrasion and allowing solids up to 40 mm to pass through without the risk of blockage.
The built-in float automatically switches off the pump when the liquid level drops, protecting the motor against dry running. Thermal protection in the class B winding provides additional protection during prolonged pumping cycles in enclosed, poorly ventilated chambers.

How does SWQ SEPTIC differ from the SWQ 1300 with a grinder?
SWQ 1300 has an open cutting system that actively shreds organic matter before it reaches the impeller. SWQ SEPTIC works differently: its Vortex impeller allows solid contaminants up to 40 mm to pass through without shredding them, making it suitable for media containing larger, harder organic particles that could block the cutting system. SWQ SEPTIC is the choice when the contents of the tank are heterogeneous and difficult to predict.
Can the SWQ SEPTIC handle slurry?
Yes – the cast-iron impeller housing and resistance to pH 4–10 allow it to handle moderately dense slurry. With very thick slurry, it is advisable to consult Dambat's technical department regarding model selection—capacity and head decrease as the medium's viscosity increases.
What does a Vortex impeller mean—is it a better solution than a grinder?
Neither better nor worse – just different. The Vortex impeller operates without contact: the liquid swirls around the impeller and pushes contaminants through it without direct contact. This means less impeller wear, but also lower energy efficiency than with a multi-channel impeller. A grinder actively cuts organic matter – it is better suited to situations where the pipeline has a small diameter and there is a risk of clogging. The choice depends on the characteristics of the medium and the installation.
Will the pump work in an enclosed pumping station chamber?
Yes – the motor winding's insulation class B allows operation at higher ambient temperatures, typical of enclosed, poorly ventilated chambers. The IP68 protection rating ensures watertightness during full immersion. It is advisable to ensure access to the float during inspections to make sure it is not mechanically blocked by sediment.
