IBO SWQ SEPTIC submersible pump for sewage 230 V with float switch
SWQ SEPTIC is a specialist submersible pump with a power of 1.1 kW, designed for work with sewage and faeces. The cast iron Vortex impeller with a 40 mm free passage allows large solid contaminants to pass through without the risk of blocking, and the gray cast iron housing and AISI 304 stainless steel motor body ensure resistance to aggressive chemical environments in the pH range 4–10.
For whom
-
Owners of septic tanks and home sewage treatment plants – the Vortex impeller with a 40 mm passage copes with typical septic tank contents without a pre-filter, and the built-in Float eliminates the need for supervision during emptying.
-
Water and sewage network installers – cast iron construction and resistance to pH 4–10 allow installation in collecting wells and municipal sewage pumping stations without fear of rapid corrosion.
-
Farms – high efficiency of 420–450 l/min is suitable for regular pumping of slurry and water from settling tanks of moderate density.
-
Maintenance departments (UR) – continuous operation mode and B insulation class allow for long-term operation in conditions of increased ambient temperature typical for closed chambers of pumping stations.
Application
SWQ SEPTIC is dedicated to environments where others Submersible pumps fail - domestic sewage, feces and water from sedimentation tanks with a pH of 4-10. The gray cast iron Vortex impeller has no direct contact with the medium during normal operation - the liquid flows around the impeller thanks to the swirling effect, which minimizes abrasion and allows solid particles up to 40 mm to pass through without the risk of blocking.
Built-in Float turns off the pump automatically when the liquid level drops, protecting the engine against dry running. Thermal protection in the Class B winding provides additional protection for long pumping cycles in closed, poorly ventilated chambers.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – submersible pump IBO SWQ SEPTIC
How does SWQ SEPTIC differ from SWQ 1300 with a shredder?
SWQ 1300 has an open cutting system - it actively grinds organic fractions in front of the rotor. SWQ SEPTIC works differently: the Vortex impeller passes solids up to 40 mm without shredding them, making it suitable for media with larger, harder organic particles that could block the cutting system. SWQ SEPTIC is the choice where the tank content is heterogeneous and difficult to predict.
Can SWQ SEPTIC cope with slurry?
Yes - the cast iron rotor housing and resistance to pH 4-10 allow you to work with slurry of moderate density. In the case of very thick slurry, it is worth consulting the Dambat technical department regarding the selection of the model - efficiency and lifting decrease as the viscosity of the medium increases.
What does a Vortex impeller mean – is it a better solution than a shredder?
Not better or worse - different. The Vortex impeller is contactless: the liquid swirls around the impeller and pushes contaminants through it without direct contact. This means less rotor abrasion, but also lower energy efficiency than with a multi-channel rotor. The shredder actively cuts organic fractions - better where the pipeline has a small diameter and there is a risk of clogging. The choice depends on the nature of the medium and installation.
Will the pump work in a closed pumping station chamber?
Yes - class B insulation of the motor winding allows operation at higher ambient temperatures, typical for closed, poorly ventilated chambers. IP68 protection rating ensures tightness when fully immersed. It is worth ensuring access to the float during inspections to make sure it is not mechanically blocked by deposits.
