A conventional cable float is a plastic float that moves freely on the water’s surface – simple and proven, but it requires room to move and is prone to cable tangling and mechanical damage. The PN-1000 pneumatic float works by changing the air pressure in a sealed chamber – it has no external moving parts, is sealed, and is resistant to the conditions found in confined tanks. This solution works better in places where a conventional float would have difficulty operating.
How does the SWQ 180 with a pneumatic float differ from the SWQ 180 without a float?
It is the same motor with the same hydraulic parameters – the only difference is the control system. The model without a float requires manual switching on and off or connection to external automation. The model with PN-1000 operates fully automatically – the pneumatic float responds independently to the water level. For installations with their own controller, the model without a float is better; for standalone operation at a tank, choose the version with PN-1000.
What is the difference between AISI 316 and AISI 304 stainless steel?
AISI 316 contains molybdenum, which increases resistance to pitting corrosion – especially in environments with chlorides and higher water mineralization. In practice, this means a longer housing lifespan when pumping rainwater collected from roofs (often acidic), water from ponds with increased salinity, or in installations near the sea. This is a deliberate material choice for this model.
Is the SWQ 180 with the PN-1000 suitable for a fish pond?
Yes – its compact dimensions, quiet operation, and automatic float make this model a good choice for small garden ponds. Condition: the water must be technically clean, without sand or mineral silt. The 2 mm passage and PPO impeller are sensitive to abrasive suspended particles – for water with a large amount of bottom silt, the SWQ 750 would be a more suitable choice.
