The SWQ 1300 is a steel submersible pump with a power rating of 1.3 kW, equipped with an open cutting system and intended for pumping sewage and dirty water containing organic fractions. The SWQ series with a grinder is designed for use in septic tanks, pumping stations, and household treatment plants – the gray cast iron two-channel impeller with a cutting assembly shreds organic waste before it reaches the hydraulics, eliminating the risk of system blockage.

Applications
The SWQ 1300 is intended for pumping domestic sewage, dirty water from septic tanks and settling tanks, and supplying household biological treatment plants. The open gray cast iron cutting system shreds soft organic fractions – food scraps, paper, and fibers – before they reach the impeller. The pump is not suitable for media containing sand, gravel, or other mineral contaminants, which have an abrasive effect on the Ceramic/Graphite/NBR seal and cutting system.
The built-in float automatically switches off the pump when the liquid level drops, protecting the motor from dry running. An additional overcurrent switch located on the power cable cuts off the power supply if the cutting system becomes mechanically blocked – this is a separate line of protection, independent of the thermal protector, which responds to a sudden increase in current draw before the winding is damaged.

What does the grinder actually do—is it the same as a septic tank pump?
The grinder is an open cutting system mounted at the pump inlet—it chops soft organic matter (paper, food scraps, fibers) before it reaches the impeller. This allows the pump to push septic tank contents through a smaller-diameter pipeline without the risk of clogging. It is not the same as a clean-water pump—the SWQ 1300 is specifically designed for this type of medium.
How does the SWQ 1300 differ from the SWQ 2200 with a grinder?
Both models have an identical cutting-system design and the same materials. The difference is power and performance: the SWQ 1300 (1.3 kW, 417 l/min, 10 m head) is suitable for typical septic tanks and residential pumping stations. The SWQ 2200 (2.2 kW, 333 l/min, 18 m head) is the choice where a greater pressure head is needed—such as with a longer discharge pipeline or a higher-level receiver.
What happens if a stone or piece of metal gets into the pump?
The cutting system and gray cast iron impeller are not designed for hard solids—a stone or piece of metal may damage or block the impeller. The overcurrent switch on the cable will respond to a sudden increase in current draw and cut off the power before the motor burns out. After removing the obstruction, the pump can be restarted, but it is advisable to check the condition of the cutting system.
What damages this pump the fastest?
Sand and mineral particles in the medium wear the cutting system and ceramic seal much faster than normal use. The second hazard is dry running with a blocked float switch. The third is that regularly pumping media with a high fat content can cause deposits to build up on the cutting system and gradually reduce performance.
