IBO SWQ 1100 submersible pump 230 V with float switch
SWQ 1100 is stainless steel submersible pump with a power of 1.1 kW, intended for pumping clean and slightly polluted water. The SWQ series is designed for draining flooded rooms, pumping surface water and feeding tanks - the 1100 model is a version with increased power compared to the SWQ 750, retaining the same housing dimensions and a cooling jacket enabling operation without full immersion.
For whom
-
Renovation and construction teams – higher power than SWQ 750 accelerates the drainage of deep excavations and large flooded surfaces, and the cooling jacket allows you to work down to a low water level without the risk of overheating.
-
Fire brigade and municipal services – capacity of 235 l/min and continuous operation mode are sufficient for quick emptying of flooded basements and garages during typical flooding.
-
Agricultural and fish farms – narrow housing 167 × 167 mm allows installation in tight wells and tanks with regular pumping of surface water.
-
Maintenance departments (UR) – automatic Float and thermal protection eliminate the need for supervision during long pumping cycles in industrial facilities.
Application
SWQ 1100 is designed for pumping clean and slightly polluted water - rainwater, surface water from ponds and rivers, as well as water from flooded rooms and excavations. The permissible impeller passage is 5 mm, which means tolerance for fine organic suspensions.
The cooling jacket removes heat from the motor through the pumped medium, allowing the device to operate without being fully submerged. A built-in float switch stops the motor automatically when the liquid level drops to a minimum, eliminating the risk of running dry. Thermal protection in the winding acts independently as additional protection during multi-hour pump-down cycles.
Features of the SWQ 1100 pump
- Adaptation for pumping water with sand and sludge: NO – intended for clean and slightly polluted water; a rotor bore of 5 mm does not mean resistance to abrasive particles
- Cooling Jacket: YES – operation is possible without fully immersing the engine
- Discharge port: 1½" threaded, vertical direction
- Thermal protection: YES (built into the motor winding)
- Float switch: YES – built-in, protects against dry running
- Working mode: continuous

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – submersible pump IBO SWQ 1100
I have a flooded basement - SWQ 1100 or SWQ 750, which one should I choose?
If there is a lot of water in the basement and you are pressed for time - SWQ 1100. Higher power (1.1 kW vs 0.75 kW) translates into faster emptying with similar dimensions and the same impeller diameter of 5 mm. If the flooding is minor or the pump is to be operated regularly with small amounts of water, the SWQ 750 will be a sufficient choice, which also consumes less electricity>
Will SWQ 1100 extract water from a deep excavation?
The lifting height is 14 m, so excavation up to several meters deep is within reach. The cooling jacket allows you to pump almost to the bottom without the risk of overheating the engine - the device does not require full submersion. When excavating very deep, it is worth taking into account losses along the hose length, which reduce the actual lifting.
The water is cloudy after a flood - will the pump handle it?
Cloudy water with fine organic silt - yes, this is within the acceptable range. Sand, gravel and mineral particles – no, these damage the mechanical seal and the stainless steel impeller faster than normal wear and tear would result. If the flood water is very sandy, the SWQ PRO 1500 with a gray cast iron impeller is a better choice.
What destroys this pump the fastest?
Dry running is the greatest risk - the engine without medium cooling overheats very quickly. The second threat is sand and mineral suspensions that wear out the gland. It is also worth keeping an eye on the temperature of the pumped water - the limit is 35°C, above which the life of the seals decreases significantly.
