Swedish well connector 1"
The IBO Swedish well connector is a brass element that allows the installation and disassembly of a submersible pump directly in the well. The pump is hung in a well, without bringing the pressure pipe to the surface, and the water is discharged through a pipeline located below the freezing zone. This solution protects the well against contamination and allows you to dispense with the need for a concrete casing.
For whom
-
Well drillers and drilling companies – quick assembly and disassembly of the pump directly in the well, without a concrete casing.
-
Owners of deep water wells – water intake protected against contamination and flooding with surface water.
-
Installers of deep well pumps – a brass adapter connects the discharge pipe below the ground freezing level.
-
Plot owners – the entire installation remains buried, with no well casing visible on the plot.
Application
The Swedish connector is used in deep wells as a way to connect and suspend the pump in the well. The pump is mounted directly in the well, and the discharge pipe is connected to the housing via a brass adapter. The water drainage pipeline is laid below the freezing level, so the installation also operates in winter.
Thanks to this, the concrete casing of the well and the well head can be omitted, and the entire installation remains buried. The connector works with 2½", 3", 3½" and 4" deep well pumps. The IBO 1" and 1¼" Swedish well connection facilitates pump installation and protects the well against contamination.
Features of the Swedish well joint
The connector is made of brass, resistant to corrosion in well conditions. Its task is to suspend the pump in the hole and tightly connect the discharge pipe with the water discharge pipeline. The design allows for very simple disassembly of the pump when it needs to be serviced.
The connector is installed underground and the water is discharged through a pipeline located below the ground freezing zone. This method of installation eliminates the concrete casing of the well and the head, and at the same time protects the intake from surface water. Available connection sizes are 1" and 1¼".

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – IBO Swedish well connector
What is a Swedish well connector used for?
The Swedish well connector is used to assemble and disassemble a submersible pump directly in the well. The pump is hung in the well hole and the discharge pipe is connected to the pipeline through a brass adapter. The solution protects the well against contamination and surface water.
How does a Swedish joint installation differ from a well head installation?
When installed on the Swedish Connector, the pump and pipeline are placed underground, without a concrete casing and without a head brought to the surface. The well head closes the casing pipe from above, and the discharge pipe goes above the ground. The choice depends on how the intake is made and whether the installation is to remain buried.
What pumps does the Swedish connector work with?
The connector works with submersible pumps with a diameter of 2½", 3", 3½" and 4". It is available in 1" and 1¼" connection sizes, which are selected according to the diameter of the discharge pipe. The brass construction is resistant to the conditions in the well.
Does the joint protect the well from freezing?
Yes. The water drainage pipeline is laid below the ground freezing level, and the entire installation remains buried. Thanks to this, the intake also works during frosts.
How to dismantle the pump with a Swedish connection?
The connector is designed to make disassembly of the pump very simple - the pump can be pulled out of the well without digging up the entire installation. This facilitates service and possible replacement of the pump.
Where can you buy an IBO Swedish well connector?
As a manufacturer, we do not sell directly. The IBO Swedish well connector can be purchased from our trading partners, installation wholesalers and authorized online distributors. The size of 1" or 1¼" is selected according to the diameter of the discharge pipe.
What is the warranty for the IBO Swedish well connector?
IBO – 24 months (2 years) manufacturer's warranty. Warranty and post-warranty service is provided by Dambat. If you have any questions about size selection, please contact an authorized distributor.
