SK-30 – IBO intelligent pressure switch
The SK-30 is an intelligent pressure switch from IBO that automatically controls pump operation—starting it when water is drawn and switching it off when water use ends. It combines a pressure gauge and check valve in a single housing, and during the first startup it automatically adjusts itself to the installation and sets the operating pressure. This is a compact controller for automatic pump control in a water system.

Applications

The device operates exclusively with clean water, free of sand and iron compounds that could damage it. For smoother operation, installing a small diaphragm tank, such as a 5-liter tank, is recommended. The SK-30 responds to the water pressure and flow in the pipe on which it is installed. A drop in pressure below the set value together with the appearance of flow starts the pump, while closing the outlet stops it. During the first startup, the controller adjusts itself to the installation and stores the operating pressure, which can later be adjusted using the buttons in increments of 0.1–0.2 bar.
Clear LEDs indicate the operating status: power, pump operation, and flow, while flashing indicates no water and excessively frequent activation. If there is no water, the switch disconnects the pump within approximately 10 seconds and retries every hour, with the option of manual activation using the AUTO/RESET button. The built-in pressure gauge and check valve reduce the number of components on the pipeline, while protection against excessively high and low voltage safeguards the electronics.

Do you need to add a check valve and pressure gauge to the SK-30?
No – the pressure gauge and check valve are built into the SK-30 and do not need to be purchased separately. This reduces the number of components on the pipeline and simplifies installation. For this reason, do not install an additional check valve between the pump and the switch.
Does the SK-30 protect the pump against dry running?
Yes. If there is no water, the SK-30 switches off the pump within approximately 10 seconds and indicates this with a flashing LED. The controller automatically attempts to restart every hour, and the pump can also be switched on manually using the AUTO/RESET button.
Is the SK-30 compatible with a pressure tank?
No – the SK-30 is not compatible with pressure tanks. For smoother operation, however, installing a small diaphragm pressure vessel, such as a 5-liter one, is recommended. The pump used with the switch should produce an inlet pressure of at least 2 bar.
