160 / 50 mm Through-Wellhead Made of Plastic
A through-wellhead is a metal cover that hermetically seals the casing pipe of a deep well and guides the pump discharge pipe through it. The PE pipe passes through the wellhead, where it is clamped with a seal. A separate cable gland ensures a tight passage for the power cable. Thanks to the seal on the casing pipe, the well remains protected against surface water and contaminants.
Who is it for?
-
Well drillers and drilling companies – tight sealing of the borehole and secure suspension of the pump on a metal eye.
-
Deep-well pump installers – the PE pipe and power cable pass through one sealed entry point.
-
Owners of domestic wells – protection of the water intake against surface contaminants.
-
Service teams – organized access to the pump and periodic inspection of the well installation.
Application
The through-wellhead is used to seal the casing pipes of deep wells in which a pump suspended on a rope operates. The PE discharge pipe is routed through the wellhead, while the power cable passes through a cable gland – the entire assembly remains tight thanks to the clamped seals. A well sealed in this way is protected against surface water, groundwater, and foreign objects.
The hermetic seal also allows the capacity of shallower wells to be used more effectively – a vacuum may form between the wellhead and the pump, helping draw water as the water table falls. The appropriate version depends on the casing pipe diameter and the PE pipe diameter. The IBO through-wellhead is available in versions designed for 110, 125, and 160 mm casing pipes.
Features of the through-wellhead
The through-wellhead is made of metal – steel or galvanized cast iron – resistant to conditions inside the well. The PE discharge pipe passes through the body and is secured with a clamped seal, which also seals the passage. A second seal is clamped onto the casing pipe, sealing the well.
The pump power cable is routed through a cable gland, ensuring a tight seal at the cable passage as well. A metal eye is provided for suspending the pump, with the support rope attached to it. The appropriate version is selected according to the casing pipe diameter and the diameter of the outgoing PE pipe.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) – IBO Through-Wellhead
What is a through-wellhead used for?
A through-wellhead hermetically seals the casing pipe of a deep well and guides the PE discharge pipe and pump cable through it. It protects the well against surface water, groundwater, and contaminants. The metal eye allows the pump to be safely suspended on a rope.
What is the difference between a through-wellhead and a version with an external thread?
In a through-wellhead, the PE pipe passes through the body and is clamped with a seal, so it is routed in a continuous section. In the version with an external thread, the discharge pipe is connected to the thread on the wellhead. The choice depends on how the discharge pipe is routed in the installation.
How do you choose the wellhead size for a well?
Two parameters must be matched: the diameter of the well casing pipe (110, 125, or 160 mm) and the diameter of the PE pipe routed to the pump (from 25 to 63 mm, depending on the version). Diameters of 110–125 mm correspond to 4" wells, while 160 mm corresponds to 6" wells. If in doubt, consult the technical department about the selection.
How do you install a through-wellhead?
The PE pipe is connected to the pump discharge outlet, passed through the wellhead, and clamped with a seal, while the cable is routed through the cable gland. The pump is suspended on a rope attached to the wellhead eye, after which the wellhead is seated in the casing pipe and the seal is tightened. Installation should be carried out by a qualified installer with the power disconnected.
Can a deep-well pump be suspended from the wellhead?
Yes. Each wellhead has a metal eye to which a support rope is attached to hold the pump in the casing pipe. The rope bears the weight of the pump, so the discharge pipe and cable are not subjected to the load.
Where can you buy an IBO wellhead?
As the manufacturer, we do not sell directly. IBO through-wellheads can be purchased from our commercial partners, installation wholesalers, and authorized online distributors. The appropriate version is selected according to the casing pipe and PE pipe diameters.
What is the warranty on an IBO wellhead?
IBO – 24 months (2 years) manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty and post-warranty service is provided by Dambat. For questions about selecting the appropriate version, please contact an authorized distributor.
