MH 1100 – single-stage screw surface pump 230 V

The MH 1100 screw pump by IBO is a single-stage, self-suction screw type surface pump, designed for collecting and pumping technically clean, cold raw / untreated water from own intakes, tanks or wells, before the treatment process, as well as for increasing the pressure in home, recreational and agricultural installations. The positive displacement design (steel rotor / elastomer stator) also allows, with a low viscosity medium, to pump selected liquid fertilizers and technological solutions. A 1 m long cable with a plug ensures easy connection to the 230 V power supply.

• Owners of houses and plots on a hill – lifting up to 130 m ensures satisfactory pressure where the water intake is below the reception level.
• Agricultural and horticultural farms – high operating pressure is useful when powering sprinklers, drip lines over long distances and when pumping selected liquid fertilizers in fertigation installations.
• Homeowners with water treatment systems – cooperation with iron removers, manganese removers, softeners and carbon and mechanical filters, including when rinsing filter columns.

Application

The MH 1100 screw type is designed for abstracting, pumping and increasing the pressure of technically clean, cold raw/untreated water from own intakes, dug and ring wells and tanks, before the treatment process. The pump can be used in power supply systems for hydrophore plants, recreational plots, households and farms, and irrigation systems. If water is to be used for food or household purposes, it must be properly treated and quality controlled at the point of consumption. The pump is not a water treatment device and does not constitute confirmation of the suitability of water for human consumption.

• Pumping water over longer distances - farms, pastures, reservoirs and plots located higher than the intake.
• Power supply houses and installations on a hill, where the water intake is below the reception level.
• High-pressure irrigation - drip lines over longer distances, sprinklers, nurseries and orchards.
• Power supply water treatment plants (iron removers, manganese removers, softeners, carbon and mechanical filters), including rinsing of filter columns.
• Power supply selected small membrane installations and pumping selected liquid fertilizers and technological solutions in nozzle and fertigation installations.

Note: the pump cannot operate with the discharge valve closed. In installations where it is possible to limit or cut off the flow, a bypass and a safety valve should be used to protect the pump against excessive pressure increases.

Tolerated working media (except water)

Water is the reference medium (concentration 100%, viscosity approx. 1 mPa·s). In addition to water, the pump tolerates selected fertilizer and technical solutions, while maintaining the given concentrations and viscosity similar to water (temperature 20°C). Before using a medium other than water, its chemical compatibility with materials in contact with the medium should be verified - fertilizers and other chemically aggressive media may accelerate wear of the stator, rotor and stuffing box seal, which may then require periodic replacement.

The pump is not intended for pumping

• Oils, fuels, petroleum-derived media, oil emulsions and other lubricating liquids.
• Organic solvents.
• Strong acids, including nitric, hydrochloric and sulfuric acids.
• Strong alkalis and oxidants, including sodium hypochlorite.
• Strongly acidic or strongly alkaline cleaning agents.
• Concentrated acidifying fertilizers based on strong acids.
• Media with high chloride content.
• Liquids containing abrasive particles, e.g. sand, sludge or sediment.

Features and technical data of MH 1100 screw type

Single-stage screw pump based on a positive displacement design - unlike a typical centrifugal pump, power consumption increases with increasing pressure and decreasing flow. The pump housing and shaft are made of AISI 304 stainless steel, the discharge body is made of cast iron, the rotor is made of AISI 304 stainless steel, the stator is made of NBR, and the mechanical stuffing box is made of ceramics, graphite and NBR. For installations using the MH 1100 screw pump 230 V, we recommend installing the following protection devices: bypass with pressure regulation and safety valve, overcurrent protection matched to the rated motor current, protection against dry running and a pressure switch that cuts off the pump before reaching the overload range.
