IBO KBFU AUTO 50-1.5 sludge pump with agitator, 400 V
The KBFU AUTO 50-1.5 is a three-phase automatic sludge pump with a power rating of 1.5 kW, powered by 400 V, equipped with a chromium-alloy agitator and a built-in control system with a level sensor. The KBFU AUTO series is designed for unattended operation in collection wells and pumping stations—the pump starts and stops automatically according to the liquid level, without the need for manual operation.
Who it is for
-
Investors and building managers with collection wells – the built-in level sensor and controller eliminate the need for manual supervision, allowing the pump to operate fully automatically around the clock.
-
Construction companies carrying out long-term drainage work – automatic start-up based on the water level eliminates the need to assign an employee to operate the pump at the construction site.
-
Mines and mining facilities – the chromium-alloy agitator and the ability to handle particles up to 10 mm ensure reliable operation with thicker sludge than standard KBFU models.
-
Drainage system installers – the built-in automation simplifies system design, while the DN 2" outlet in a vertical or horizontal configuration provides installation flexibility.
-
Municipal companies with pumping stations – automatic operation and no need for constant supervision reduce operating costs with a continuous inflow of groundwater.
Applications
The KBFU AUTO series is an enhanced version of the standard KBFU series, featuring an agitator, a control system with a level sensor, and a double mechanical seal. These components make the pump suitable for operation in collection wells and pumping stations where automatic response to changing liquid levels is required without operator intervention. The chromium-alloy agitator actively breaks up sediment at the inlet, enabling the pumping of suspensions containing particles up to 10 mm—twice as large as those handled by standard models in the series.
A key design feature is the cooling jacket surrounding the motor. Thanks to it, the pump does not need to be completely submerged in the pumped medium to maintain a safe operating temperature—the motor is cooled through the jacket wall even when the liquid level in the tank is already very low. The control system and thermal protection in the motor winding provide additional protection during prolonged unattended operation.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – KBFU AUTO 50-1.5 sludge pump
How does the KBFU AUTO differ from the standard KBFU series?
The AUTO series has three features that the standard KBFU series does not: a liquid level sensor that controls the automatic start and stop of the pump, a chromium-alloy agitator that mixes sediment at the inlet, and a control system. A double mechanical seal is also used. In practice: you place the pump in the well, connect the power supply, and it manages its operation by itself.
Why is a level sensor better than a float?
A conventional float switch is a mechanical component with moving parts, vulnerable to cable entanglement, jamming by sediment, mechanical damage, or the effects of the medium's pH level. The level sensor used in the KBFU AUTO series has a sealed, enclosed design with no external moving parts—it is more resistant to difficult operating conditions in sludge and acidic environments and does not require additional space in the well.
How can the pump be protected from oversized particles and stones?
The pump itself has perforations at the inlet, which serve as the first barrier against larger particles. When operating in environments containing stones or coarse debris, it is worth additionally using a submersible pump basket—a metal basket-shaped cover with fine perforations that is fitted directly onto the pump and effectively filters what enters the inlet. Alternatively, a protective mesh with openings smaller than 10 mm, secured around the pump, can be used. Both solutions are inexpensive, easy to install, and significantly extend the equipment's service life when operating in contaminated areas.
Where can I buy the IBO KBFU AUTO 50-1.5 pump?
