KBFU 80-5.5 is a three-phase sludge pump with a power rating of 5.5 kW, powered by 400 V, with a DN 3" connection and a head of up to 34 m. It is the model with the highest head in the DN 3" subgroup of the KBFU series, designed for installations requiring both high discharge pressure and resistance to abrasive particles, for example when pumping water through long pipelines or from exceptionally deep excavations.

The KBFU series is designed to drain water from construction sites, mines, and quarries—wherever the pumped medium contains abrasive particles that damage standard centrifugal pumps. The unit's durable cast-iron hydraulic assembly and impeller coated with a heavy-duty chromium-alloy layer withstand demanding operating conditions, reducing the risk of unplanned downtime and service costs. The vertical DN 3" outlet makes it easier to install and connect discharge hoses directly above the pump.
A key design feature is the cooling jacket surrounding the motor. Thanks to it, the pump does not need to be fully submerged in the pumped medium to maintain a safe operating temperature—the motor is cooled through the jacket wall even when the water level in the excavation is already very low. Thermal protection built into the motor winding provides an additional layer of protection against overheating during prolonged continuous operation.

The KBFU 80-5.5 offers greater head – 34 m compared with 23 m for the 100-5.5 model. It is the model for installations where water must be pumped to a considerable height or through a long pipeline with high hydraulic resistance. The KBFU 100-5.5, with a DN 4" connection, is the choice when maximum flow at lower pressure is the priority.
How do I connect a hose to the KBFU 80-5.5 pump?
The DN 3" discharge connection is threaded – the hose is connected using a hose clamp or a DN 3" quick coupling. Using smaller-diameter hoses with a reducer is possible, but it limits the installation's capacity.
What is the difference between the KBFU 80-5.5 and KBFU 80-3.7?
The 80-5.5 model has higher power (5.5 vs. 3.7 kW), higher capacity (1,300 vs. 920 l/min), and greater head (34 vs. 29 m). Both pumps have the same SiC-SiC / SiC-SiC mechanical seal. The 5.5 model is the choice for DN 3" installations where the capabilities of the 3.7 model may prove insufficient.
