IBO KBFU 80-3.7 400 V submersible sludge pump
The KBFU 80-3.7 is a three-phase sludge pump with a power rating of 3.7 kW, powered by 400 V, with a DN 3" connection and a head of up to 29 m. The model features a SiC-SiC / SiC-SiC mechanical seal—full ceramic on both sides of the seal provides greater resistance to abrasive particles than the carbon-seal solutions used in the smaller models in the series.
Who is it for?
-
Open-pit mines and extraction plants – the SiC-SiC / SiC-SiC mechanical seal is a significant advantage when pumping media with a high content of quartz sand and other abrasive particles.
-
Construction companies carrying out deep excavations – the 29 m head allows water to be discharged from deeper foundations without staging the installation.
-
Hydraulic engineering contractors – the combination of a flow rate of 920 l/min and a head of 29 m meets most requirements for draining linear and point-based structures.
-
Industrial plants with permanent installations – the 3.7 kW motor in continuous-duty mode is suitable for permanent drainage systems in production halls and industrial facilities.
-
Drainage system installers and designers – well-documented specifications and a proven design make it easier to select the right solution for construction and industrial projects.
Applications
The KBFU series is designed for draining water from construction sites, mines, and quarries—wherever the pumped medium contains sand, sludge, or abrasive particles that damage standard centrifugal pumps. The unit's durable cast-iron hydraulic assembly and wear-resistant-coated impeller withstand demanding operating conditions, reducing the risk of unplanned downtime and service costs. The vertical DN 3" outlet facilitates installation and connection of discharge hoses directly above the pump.
A key design feature is the cooling jacket surrounding the motor. Thanks to it, the pump does not need to be fully submerged in the pumped medium to maintain a safe operating temperature—the motor is cooled through the jacket wall even when the water level in the excavation is already very low. Thermal protection built into the motor winding provides an additional layer of protection against overheating during prolonged continuous operation.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – KBFU 80-3.7 slurry pump
What is the difference between the SiC-SiC / SiC-SiC mechanical seal and the SiC-SiC / Carbon-SiC seal used in the smaller models?
In the SiC-SiC / SiC-SiC mechanical seal, both sealing surfaces are made of silicon carbide, a material with very high hardness and abrasion resistance. In a seal with a carbon seal (Carbon-SiC), one side is less hard, which may shorten its service life with intensive contact with abrasive particles. The 80-3.7 model with a fully ceramic seal is the right choice wherever the medium contains more hard aggregate.
How do I connect a discharge hose to the KBFU 80-3.7 pump?
The DN 3" discharge outlet is threaded – the discharge hose is connected using a hose clamp or a DN 3" quick coupling. Using smaller-diameter hoses with a reducer is possible, but it limits the installation’s capacity.
What is the difference between the KBFU 80-3.7 and the KBFU 80-2.2 T?
The 80-3.7 model has higher power (3.7 vs 2.2 kW), greater head (29 vs 19 m), and a SiC-SiC / SiC-SiC mechanical seal instead of SiC-SiC / Carbon-SiC. Its capacity is slightly lower – 920 vs 1000 l/min. It is the right choice for deeper excavations and more abrasive media.
Where can I buy the IBO KBFU 80-3.7 pump?
The pump is available from Dambat’s trading partners, at installation wholesalers, and in specialist technical stores throughout Poland. Dambat does not sell directly.
How long is the warranty for the KBFU 80-3.7?
IBO – 24 months (2 years) manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty and post-warranty service is provided by Dambat, Adamów 50, Grodzisk Mazowiecki.
