The KBFU 100-7.5 is a three-phase 7.5 kW slurry pump powered by 400 V, with a DN 4" connection and a head of up to 40 m—the highest discharge-pressure rating in the entire KBFU series. The model is intended for the most demanding drainage installations, where both high pressure and high flow through a four-inch pipeline are required.

Applications
The IBO KBFU series is designed for demanding working environments—from draining water from construction sites, mines, and quarries to crisis situations such as failures or natural disasters—wherever the pumped medium contains mechanical contaminants that damage standard centrifugal pumps. The durable cast-iron hydraulic unit and impeller coated with a hard-wearing chromium alloy layer withstand harsh operating conditions, reducing the risk of unplanned downtime. The DN 4" connection with a vertical outlet direction allows high-capacity pipelines to be connected directly above the pump.
A key design element is the cooling jacket surrounding the motor. Thanks to it, the pump does not need to be fully submerged in the pumped medium to maintain a safe operating temperature—the motor is cooled through the jacket wall even when the water level in the excavation is already very low. Thermal protection built into the motor winding provides an additional layer of protection against overheating during prolonged continuous operation.

Why does the KBFU 100-7.5 have a lower output than the KBFU 100-5.5?
This is a classic hydraulic relationship—with the same connection diameter, a higher motor power results in increased pressure rather than flow. The KBFU 100-7.5 provides 40 m of head compared with 23 m for the 5.5 model, at the cost of slightly lower output (1500 vs. 2200 l/min). The 7.5 model is the choice for installations with high hydraulic resistance—deep excavations or long pipelines.
What most commonly causes slurry pump failures, and how can they be avoided?
The most common causes are dry running—when the pump operates without water and the motor overheats—and pumping a medium that is too dense or contains particles that are too large. The KBFU 100-7.5 is protected against overheating by a cooling jacket; however, an external level sensor is advisable for unattended installations.
What happens if the pump draws in a stone that is too large?
A stone within the permitted particle diameter will pass through the impeller—this is precisely what the hard-wearing chromium-alloy layer is designed for. A larger stone will block the impeller: the motor will continue drawing current, but the impeller will remain stationary, causing the winding temperature to rise rapidly within several seconds. The built-in thermal protection should switch off the pump in this situation before permanent damage occurs. If the pump suddenly stops drawing water while the motor is running, switch it off immediately, remove it, and check the inlet. Waiting almost always results in a burned-out winding, which is not covered by the warranty.
