Description
IQ PRESS – electronic pump controller
IQ PRESS is a digital controller that automatically controls the pump's operation - it turns on when water is needed and turns it off when the pressure reaches the set level. The device was designed to directly control one or two single-phase pumps at the same time. Built-in safeguards guarantee protection of the pump drive against dry running and overload.
For whom
- Owners of single-family houses – automatic control of pump operation, extending the pump's life thanks to comprehensive protection against dry running and overload.
- Installers of hydrophore systems – one device for various single-phase pumps; three modes and adjustable pressure thresholds simplify the selection and reduce the number of automation elements.
- Farms and allotment holders – irrigation and water intake at high flow, with some protection of the pump when operating from a well or reservoir.
- Two-pump installations – the cooperation of two pumps, working and supporting or resting, increases the efficiency of the system and provides a reserve in the event of a failure.
Application
IQ PRESS is used in home hydrophore installations, pressure boosting systems and wherever water is drawn from your own intake - a deep well, a tank or a water supply with unstable pressure. In the flow control mode, the controller turns on the pump after opening the draw-off point and cuts it off after closing it, and in pressure modes, it ensures that the pressure in the building network maintains a set, constant value.
It is equally good at irrigating gardens and green areas and supplying clean water to small farm facilities. In a typical single-family installation, the IQ PRESS 230 V electronic pressure switch takes over the control of the pump, starting it automatically when the tap is turned on and stopping it when the water intake is closed.
Features of IQ PRESS
IQ PRESS directly controls one or two single-phase pumps, adapting the operation method to the needs of the installation. The first mode monitors the flow and stops the pump when there is no water; the second acts as an electronic pressure switch for a single pump; the third distributes the work between the working and boosting pumps. The current parameters - pressure, current consumption and presence or absence of flow - are shown on a clear display.
The design integrates the controller with a small, spring-loaded diaphragm reservoir, which mitigates pressure fluctuations and limits the number of pump starts. After removing it, a thread is exposed that allows you to connect an external pressure tank with a larger capacity. The safety of the drive is ensured by an extensive security package: dry-running detection with automatic restart after water returns, protection against overload and excessive pressure, and an anti-seize function that starts the pump after a day of downtime. The device is delivered without cables - these should be selected according to the power of the specific pump.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – IQ PRESS pump controller
What is IQ PRESS and how does it work?
IQ PRESS is an electronic pump controller that automatically turns the drive on and off depending on water consumption or set pressure. It works in three modes, making it suitable for both simple home systems and installations with two pumps. A clear display shows the current pressure and current consumption, making it easier to control the operation of the installation.
Can IQ PRESS control two pumps at the same time?
Yes, in two-pump mode, IQ PRESS supports two single-phase pumps with a power of up to 2.2 kW each, operating as a working and supporting pair or a working and standby pair. This solution increases the efficiency of the system and provides a reserve in the event of a failure of one of the pumps. Each output is protected by independent current protection.
Does IQ PRESS protect the pump against dry running?
Yes, the controller detects the lack of water and stops the pump before it is damaged. When water reappears, the device automatically resumes operation. Additionally, it monitors overload, excessive pressure and too frequent switching of the pump.
Does a pressure tank need to be connected to IQ PRESS?
The controller has a built-in small 0.3 l membrane tank, which limits the number of pump starts. In pressure modes, however, it is worth selecting an additional external tank to keep the number of starts below 30 per hour and extend the life of the pump. After removing the built-in reservoir, it is available Connection for connecting an external tank.
What pumps can be controlled by IQ PRESS?
IQ PRESS works with single-phase pumps with a power of up to 2.2 kW and a current consumption of up to 16 A per output. It is suitable for deep-well, surface and hydrophore pumps operating with clean water at temperatures up to 60°C. The maximum flow is 150 l/min with a 1" connection and 300 l/min with an optional 1¼" connection.
Where can I buy the IQ PRESS controller?
As a manufacturer, we do not sell directly. The IQ PRESS controller by IBO can be purchased from our trading partners, installation wholesalers and authorized online distributors. Full parameter tables and technical documentation make it easier to choose the right configuration.
