Description
IBO IBOMAT API 25/45 – return protection pump group
IBOMAT API 25/45 is a complete return protection pump group of the IBO brand, designed for direct installation on the return pipe of a solid fuel boiler or a fireplace with a water exchanger. The integrated TSV3B thermostatic valve maintains the return water temperature above the condensation threshold, effectively protecting the exchanger against low-temperature corrosion and extending the life of the boiler.
For whom
- Installers of solid fuel boilers and fireplaces – ready-to-install device with a complete set of elements (valve, pump, insulation, thermometer) eliminates the need to select and connect separate components; installation directly on the return pipe.
- Heating installation designers – TSV3B valve with automatic bypass balancing does not require an additional balancing valve, which simplifies the design of the hydraulic system.
- Users of wood and coal boilers – protection of the exchanger against condensation and tarring translates into higher combustion efficiency and less frequent service inspections.
- Investors and developers – protection against low-temperature corrosion significantly extends the life of the boiler, reducing the total operating cost of the heating installation.
Application
IBOMAT API 25/45 is designed to protect solid fuel boilers and fireplaces with a water exchanger against low-temperature corrosion. The group is mounted on the return pipe of the water exchanger and maintains the temperature of the water returning to the boiler above the valve opening temperature, preventing flue gas condensation on the surface of the heat exchanger. Depending on the variant, the maximum supported boiler power is 46 kW (variant 45), 42 kW (variant 50) or 36 kW (variant 55).
Built-in circulation pump IPRO API 25-60/180 forces circulation of the heating medium, and the integrated TSV3B valve with a thermostatic insert automatically mixes cold return water from the installation with hot water from the boiler bypass - without the need to use an external balancing valve. The working fluid can be water or a glycol solution up to a maximum concentration of 50%.
Features of IBOMAT API 25/45

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – IBOMAT API 25/45 return protection pump group
What is IBOMAT API 25/45 for and why is return protection important?
IBOMAT API 25/45 protects a solid fuel boiler or a fireplace with a water exchanger against low-temperature corrosion. When cold return water enters the boiler without being heated, water vapor from the flue gases condenses on the surface of the exchanger, causing corrosion and tarring. IBOMAT maintains the return temperature above the condensation threshold, increasing combustion efficiency and boiler life.
What is the difference between the IBOMAT 45, 50 and 55 variants?
The variants differ in the opening temperature of the TSV3B thermostatic valve and the maximum power of the operated boiler. Variant 45 opens at 45°C and supports boilers up to 46 kW, variant 50 at 50°C - up to 42 kW, and variant 55 at 55°C - up to 36 kW. The selection of the variant depends on the boiler manufacturer's requirements regarding the minimum return temperature.
How does the TSV3B valve work and why does it not need a balancing valve?
The TSV3B valve has an integrated thermostatic insert that blocks inlet "A" (from the heating installation) until the return water temperature is lower than the opening temperature - at this time only hot water from the boiler bypass flows through the pump. When the temperature reaches the opening threshold, the valve gradually mixes the return water with the bypass, while automatically limiting the flow through the bypass. This automatic flow control eliminates the need to install a separate balancing valve.
Where can you buy the IBOMAT API pump group?
Dambat does not sell directly. IBOMAT API 25/45 is available from our trading partners, installation wholesalers and authorized online distributors.
What does the valve opening temperature mean and how does it differ from the +5°C control range?
These are two separate parameters describing the operation of the TSV3B thermostatic valve. The opening temperature (45°C, 50°C or 55°C depending on the variant) is the threshold at which the thermostatic insert starts opening the return water inlet from the installation. The control range of +5°C means that the valve moves smoothly from the fully closed to the fully open position within a range of 5°C above this temperature - for variant 45 it will therefore be in the range from 45°C to approximately 50°C. When selecting the IBOMAT variant, the boiler manufacturer's requirements regarding the minimum return water temperature should be taken into account.
