Description
IBO IBOMAT AMG 25/55 – return protection pump group with an energy-efficient pump
IBOMAT AMG 25/55 is a complete IBO return protection pump group designed for direct installation on the return pipe of a solid-fuel boiler or a fireplace with a water heat exchanger. The integrated TSV3 thermostatic valve keeps the return water temperature above the condensation threshold, effectively protecting the heat exchanger against low-temperature corrosion and extending the boiler’s service life. The AMG variant is equipped with an energy-efficient, electronically controlled circulation pump with a high efficiency rating.
Who it is for
- Installers of solid-fuel boilers and fireplaces – a ready-to-install device with a complete set of components (valve, pump, insulation, thermometer) eliminates the need to select and connect individual components; it is installed directly on the return pipe.
- Heating system designers – the TSV3 valve with automatic bypass balancing does not require an additional balancing valve, simplifying the design of the hydraulic system.
- Users looking for lower pump operating costs – an energy-efficient circulation pump with an EEI of ≤ 0.20, electronic regulation, and selectable operating modes reduces energy consumption compared with conventional circulation pumps.
- Investors and developers – protection against low-temperature corrosion significantly extends the boiler’s service life, reducing the total operating cost of the heating system.
Application
IBOMAT AMG 25/55 is designed to protect solid-fuel boilers and fireplaces with water heat exchangers against low-temperature corrosion. The group is installed on the return pipe of the water heat exchanger and keeps the temperature of the water returning to the boiler above the valve opening temperature, preventing flue gas condensation on the surface of the heat exchanger. Depending on the variant, the maximum supported boiler output is 46 kW (variant 45), 42 kW (variant 50), or 36 kW (variant 55).
The built-in energy-efficient AMG 25-60/180 circulation pump forces the heating medium to circulate and allows the user to select an operating mode: proportional pressure, constant pressure, or automatic mode, as well as one of three speed settings. The integrated TSV3 valve with a thermostatic insert automatically mixes cold return water from the system with hot water from the boiler bypass, without the need for an external balancing valve. The working fluid may be water or a glycol solution with a maximum concentration of 50%.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – IBOMAT AMG 25/55 return protection pump group
What is IBOMAT AMG 25/55 used for, and why is return protection important?
IBOMAT AMG 25/55 protects a solid-fuel boiler or a fireplace with a water heat exchanger against low-temperature corrosion. When cold return water enters the boiler without being preheated, water vapor from the flue gases condenses on the heat exchanger surface, causing corrosion and tar buildup. IBOMAT keeps the return temperature above the condensation threshold, improving combustion efficiency and extending the boiler’s service life.
What is the difference between IBOMAT AMG and IBOMAT API?
Both groups perform the same return protection function and have identical thermostatic valves and hydraulic parameters. They differ in the circulation pump – the AMG variant is equipped with an energy-efficient, electronically controlled AMG 25-60/180 pump (EEI ≤ 0.20) with selectable operating modes (proportional pressure, constant pressure, and automatic mode) and three speed settings.
What is the difference between the IBOMAT AMG 50 and 55 variants?
The variants differ in the thermostatic valve opening temperature and the maximum supported boiler output. Variant 50 opens at 50°C and supports boilers up to 42 kW, while variant 55 opens at 55°C and supports boilers up to 36 kW. The appropriate variant depends on the boiler manufacturer’s requirements regarding the minimum return temperature.
How does the TSV3 valve work, and why does it not need a balancing valve?
The TSV3 valve has an integrated thermostatic insert that blocks the inlet from the heating system while the return water temperature is below the opening temperature – during this time, only hot water from the boiler bypass flows through the pump. When the temperature reaches the opening threshold, the valve gradually mixes the return water with the bypass flow while automatically limiting the flow through the bypass. This automatic flow control eliminates the need to install a separate balancing valve.
Where can the IBOMAT AMG pump group be purchased?
Dambat does not sell directly. IBOMAT AMG 25/55 is available from our trade partners, heating and plumbing wholesalers, and authorized online distributors.
What are the warranty terms for IBOMAT AMG?
IBOMAT AMG 25/55 is covered by a 24-month (2-year) manufacturer’s warranty. Dambat provides warranty and post-warranty service.
