HARPIA 1100 S – positive displacement sewage pump with grinder

The IPRO HARPIA 1100 S positive displacement pump is a high-pressure device with a grinder, designed for pumping domestic wastewater. Unlike typical centrifugal pumps, its positive displacement design enables it to achieve high discharge pressure even with a relatively low-power motor, allowing wastewater to be pumped to considerable heights through narrow pipelines.

Applications

The HARPIA 1100 S positive displacement pump is designed for pumping domestic wastewater. The shaft-integrated disc grinder, also known as a cutting ring, shreds solid contaminants and fecal matter at the pump inlet, while the spiral-shaped steel screw rotor working with a rubber stator pumps the shredded liquid through small-diameter pipelines. Wastewater is pumped until the liquid level in the tank drops to the cutoff level, in conjunction with a control plug or float switch.

The HARPIA 1100 S positive displacement pump performs well wherever wastewater must be pumped to a considerable height using a low-power motor, for example, from a domestic sewage pumping station to a collector located higher than the installation level.

HARPIA 1100 S features – description and technical data

The motor and pump housings are made of gray cast iron, while the base and handle are made of stainless steel, ensuring corrosion resistance during continuous contact with wastewater. The 410 steel screw rotor works with a flexible NBR stator whose curves match the shape of the rotor, allowing high discharge pressure to be achieved with low power consumption. The hardened 440 steel cutting ring shreds solid contaminants and fecal matter at the pump inlet, enabling them to be safely pumped through a pipeline with a diameter of just DN32.

The motor is insulated according to class F and equipped with automatic thermal overload protection, which switches the pump off if it overheats due to low voltage, contamination, or other operating disturbances. After approximately 10 minutes, the motor cools down and restarts automatically. The double SiC/SiC mechanical seal protects the motor chamber against liquid ingress, even during prolonged submerged operation.
