Description
Well head 160 / 63 mm, metal pass-through
The through-well head is a metal cover that hermetically closes the casing pipe of the deep well and guides the pump discharge pipe through it. The PE pipe passes through the head, where it is clamped with a gasket. A separate gland ensures tight passage of the power cable. Thanks to the seal on the casing pipe, the well remains protected against surface water and contamination.
For whom
- Well drillers and drilling companies – tight closure of the well and secure suspension of the pump on a metal eye.
- Installers of deep well pumps – the PE pipe and the power cable pass through one sealed bushing.
- Owners of home wells – protection of the water intake against surface contamination.
- Service crews – orderly access to the pump and periodic inspection of the well installation.
Application
The through head is used to close the casing pipes of deep wells in which a pump suspended on a cable operates. The PE discharge pipe is led out through the head, and the power cable passes through the gland - the whole thing remains tight thanks to crimped seals. The well closed in this way is protected against surface water, groundwater and foreign bodies.
Hermetic closure also allows for better use of the efficiency of shallower wells - a negative pressure may be created between the head and the pump, supporting water intake when the water level drops. The selection of the variant depends on the diameter of the casing pipe and the diameter of the PE pipe. The IBO through-hole well head is available in versions adapted to 110, 125 and 160 mm casing pipes.
Features of a through-hole well head
The through head is made of metal - steel or galvanized cast iron - resistant to the conditions in the well. The PE discharge pipe passes through the body and is secured with a crimped gasket, which also seals the passage. The second seal is pressed onto the casing pipe, closing the well.
The pump power cable is routed through a cable gland, which also ensures tightness at the cable entry point. The pump is suspended using a metal eye to which the carrying rope is attached. The variant is selected according to the diameter of the casing pipe and the diameter of the outgoing PE pipe.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – IBO through-hole well head
What is a through-hole well head used for?
The through head hermetically closes the casing pipe of the deep well and guides the PE discharge pipe and the pump cable through it. It protects the well against surface water, groundwater and pollution. The metal eye allows you to safely hang the pump on a rope.
What is the difference between the through-hole head and the version with external thread?
In the through head, the PE pipe passes through the body and is clamped with a gasket, so it is fed out in one go. In the version with external thread, the discharge pipe is connected to the thread on the head. The choice depends on the way the discharge pipe is routed in a given installation.
How to choose the size of a well head?
Two parameters need to be adjusted: the diameter of the well casing pipe (110, 125 or 160 mm) and the diameter of the PE pipe leading to the pump (from 25 to 63 mm, depending on the variant). Diameters 110-125 mm correspond to 4" wells, and 160 mm to 6" wells. If in doubt, it is worth consulting the selection with the technical department.
How to install a through-well head?
The PE pipe is connected to the pump discharge stub, led through the head and clamped with a gasket, and the cable is passed through the gland. The pump is suspended on a rope attached to the head eye, then the head is placed in the casing pipe and the gasket is pressed. Installation should be performed by a qualified installer with the power disconnected.
Can a submersible pump be hung from the head?
Yes. Each head has a metal eye to which a carrying cable is attached, holding the pump in the casing pipe. The cable takes the weight of the pump, so it does not burden the discharge pipe or cable.
Where can you buy an IBO well head?
As a manufacturer, we do not sell directly. IBO through-hole well heads can be purchased from our trading partners, installation wholesalers and authorized online distributors. The variant is selected according to the diameter of the casing pipe and PE pipe.
What is the warranty on the IBO well head?
IBO – 24 months (2 years) manufacturer's warranty. Warranty and post-warranty service is provided by Dambat. If you have any questions about the selection of a variant, it is best to contact an authorized distributor.
