Foot valve for 3/4" PLUS expansion vessels
The IBO PLUS foot valve for expansion vessels is a brass mounting element that connects the expansion vessel with the central heating or hot water installation. On a daily basis, it ensures a secure connection between the vessel and the system and, if necessary, enables quick disassembly - for pressure control, maintenance or replacement - without emptying the entire installation. The built-in shut-off pin then stops the flow, so that the water does not flow out on its own.
For whom
- Central heating installers and plumbers - allows you to disconnect the vessel without emptying the entire installation, which shortens installation and service time.
- Heating installation service technicians - replacing or inspecting the vessel takes a moment, without the risk of flooding the boiler room.
- Home users and boiler room owners – facilitates the maintenance process of the expansion vessel in the central heating installation. and C.W.U.
- Installation designers – the valve can be included as a permanent element to facilitate the operation of the expansion vessel.
Application
The PLUS foot valve for expansion vessels is used when installing expansion vessels in central heating and hot water installations. It is installed between the installation and the vessel, most often in the boiler room or near the safety group.
It is useful wherever the vessel requires periodic pressure control, maintenance or replacement. Thanks to the valve, these works can be performed without draining the water from the entire system, which is especially convenient in extensive heating installations. The brass foot valve for PLUS expansion vessels is suitable for both new installations and the modernization of existing ones.
Features of the PLUS foot valve
The valve is made entirely of brass - a material resistant to corrosion and resistant to work with hot water in heating installations. On one side it ends with a connection thread and on the other with a connecting nut (a union), which allows convenient screwing and unscrewing of the vessel without interfering with the rest of the installation.
There is a shut-off pin inside the body which automatically closes the flow when the vessel is removed. It prevents the liquid from flowing out automatically when disassembling the vessel. The valve is designed to work with water at a temperature of up to 100°C and a pressure of up to 10 bar, which corresponds to typical conditions in central heating installations. and C.W.U.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – what is the foot valve for expansion vessels used for?
What is the purpose of a foot valve for expansion vessels?
The foot valve is used to connect the expansion vessel to the central heating installation. or domestic hot water in such a way that they can be quickly disconnected for inspection or replacement. After removing the vessel, the valve closes the flow itself, so there is no need to empty the entire installation.
How does the valve prevent water from flowing out when disassembling the vessel?
There is a shut-off pin in the valve body. When the vessel is connected, the flow is open, and when the vessel is unscrewed, the pin closes the channel and stops the medium in the installation. Thanks to this, water does not flow out automatically, which speeds up service and reduces the risk of flooding.
Is the valve suitable for central heating installations? and domestic hot water?
Yes. The PLUS foot valve for expansion vessels is designed to work in both central heating and domestic hot water systems. It is suitable for medium with a temperature of up to 100°C and a pressure of up to 10 bar.
How to install a foot valve to an expansion vessel?
Before installation, disconnect the heat source and release the pressure in the system. The valve is mounted between the installation and the vessel, and the threaded connections must be properly sealed. After installation, it is recommended to perform a tightness test and set the appropriate pressure in the installation.
Is the PLUS foot valve covered by the manufacturer's warranty?
IBO – 24 months (2 years) manufacturer's warranty. Warranty and post-warranty service is provided by Dambat.
