Explosion-proof design with ATEX certification
The DNA-EX series is used for pumping biological liquids and wastewater. The large free passage for solids makes it ideal for use in wastewater treatment plants, public and private sewage systems, and the livestock industry.
Pumps in this series can be used in all potentially explosive atmospheres, in accordance with the certificate available on request.
Characteristics
All major components are made of GG20 cast iron. The double mechanical seal in a back-to-back configuration, located in the oil chamber, ensures a long product service life.
Advantages of DNA-EX pumps
The DNA-EX wastewater pump is the ideal solution for anyone looking for a professional product for use at home or in a small business. The free passage of the DNA-EX wastewater pump is the best alternative to pumps with a macerator, which often becomes clogged, exposing the user to operational difficulties. The large free passage beneath the impeller, allowing solids from 45 to 80 mm in size to pass through, depending on the model, ensures long-term operation without the need for intervention. Open six-blade Vortex impellers handle even fibrous wastewater content exceptionally well, whereas macerators act like winding reels. Macerator blades quickly become blunt in wastewater, acting like wedges and blocking the pump. Wastewater pumps with such a large free passage beneath the impeller are free from these drawbacks. The thick impeller walls are sufficient for many years of operation in raw domestic wastewater. Connection flanges allow installation with any coupling feet featuring holes according to DN50-80 PN10.
When selecting a pump, check the specifications of the available pipeline, as the discharge pipe diameter or site geometry may sometimes require the use of a higher-power pump.
Control
The DNA-EX wastewater pump is available in two power supply versions: single-phase and three-phase. Floats are available as separate accessories and are connected to a dedicated EMX-EX barrier (a relay in the control cabinet). To control DNA-EX pumps, except for versions with a built-in float, we recommend the simple M121 controllers (230 V); suitable control cabinets ensuring compliance with ATEX conditions can also be used.
Installation methods
Thanks to the DN flange, DNA-EX pumps are commonly installed on coupling feet in domestic, municipal, network, and stormwater wastewater pumping stations. When fitted with a suitable hose connection (an elbow ending in a plain end), they become portable pumps for drainage and for handling liquids with a high solids content (gravel, sand, and waste). The DNA-EX wastewater pump can be used without difficulty to water a garden with rainwater, drain a flooded garage or basement, or pump water from a pond or ditch into another tank. DNA-EX pumps have stable feet protruding from the pump body, allowing them to stand on level ground while providing sufficient clearance beneath the body for water intake.
Like every DRENO wastewater pump, the DNA also comes standard with a 10-metre power cable. They work perfectly with DRENO coupling feet: DUTY50, DUTY 65, DUTY 80 and B5.
