CTR 550 – submersible grinder pump
The IBO CTR submersible pump with a cutting knife is a series of devices designed for pumping sewage and dirty water free of abrasive particles such as sand. The built-in float switch automatically controls the pump’s operation, while the overcurrent circuit breaker installed on the power cable protects the motor if the cutting knife becomes blocked.
Who it is for
-
Homeowners and property owners – the cutting knife shreds contaminants in sewage, reducing the risk of clogging when discharging from a septic tank.
-
Installation and service companies – the built-in float switch automates pump operation without additional control equipment.
-
Farms and livestock operations – the pump draws rainwater and surface water, while the cutting knife handles organic contaminants.
-
Municipal facilities with varying requirements – the power range from 550 W to 1500 W makes it possible to select a model suited to the size of the septic tank or the extent of flooding.
Applications
The CTR series of submersible grinder pumps is designed for pumping sewage and dirty water free of abrasive particles such as sand. The pumps are used to pump sewage from domestic septic tanks and to drain flooded rooms, houses, garages, and premises.
The cutting knife shreds solid contaminants in the sewage before it is pumped onward, reducing the risk of clogging the hose or pipeline. The devices operate in a vertical position, with a maximum pumped-liquid temperature of 35°C.
Features of the CTR series
CTR series pumps feature a gray cast iron motor housing and impeller housing. The impeller and cutting knife are made of gray cast iron and AISI 304 stainless steel, while the shaft is made of AISI 304 stainless steel, allowing the cutting components to retain their sharpness and corrosion resistance even with constant contact with sewage.
The overcurrent circuit breaker mounted directly on the power cable disconnects power to the motor if the cutting knife is blocked by a hard object, protecting the motor against overload independently of the thermal protection in the winding. The float switch automatically controls pump operation and provides basic protection against dry running.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – CTR submersible grinder pump
What contaminants does the CTR pump shred?
The cutting knife shreds solid and fibrous contaminants in sewage, reducing the risk of clogging the hose or pipeline. The pump is not intended for water containing sand or other abrasive particles.
What is the purpose of the overcurrent circuit breaker on the power cable?
The overcurrent circuit breaker disconnects power to the motor when the cutting knife is blocked by a hard object, protecting the motor against overload independently of the thermal protection built into the winding.
How does the pump protect itself against dry running?
Protection is provided by the built-in float switch, which disconnects power to the motor when the water level falls below the safe minimum.
How do I choose the right CTR pump model for my needs?
The choice of model depends on the required head and capacity – the series includes variants from 550 W (CTR 550) to 1500 W (CTR 1500), selected according to the size of the septic tank or the extent of flooding. If in doubt, please contact the technical department.
Where can I buy a CTR submersible pump?
Dambat does not sell directly to customers. CTR series pumps are available from trade partners, installation wholesalers, and authorized online distributors.
What warranty terms apply to the CTR pump?
IBO – 24 months (2 years) of manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty and post-warranty service is provided by Dambat.
