Description
IBO ITALY 80 C.H. Expansion Vessel
IBO ITALY C.H. expansion vessels are floor-standing and wall-mounted expansion tanks designed for closed heating and solar systems. As the manufacturer, we design the series to precisely compensate for changes in the volume of the heating medium, stabilizing pressure and protecting the installation against failures caused by sudden pressure spikes. The series is available in capacities from 5 to 100 liters.
Who it is for
- HVAC installation companies – we supply proven, ready-to-install components needed to build safe closed heating and solar systems.
- Designers of sanitary and heating systems – we offer vessels with specific dimensional and pressure data, simplifying boiler-room space planning.
- Wholesalers and technical stores – we enable you to expand your offering with a complete series of protective equipment for thermal systems in various capacities.
- Maintenance departments – we provide vessels for protecting extensive solar and heating circuits in industrial and agricultural facilities.
Applications
- Protection of closed central heating systems against excessive pressure increases resulting from the thermal expansion of the medium.
- Operation in solar systems with a heating medium containing up to 50% ethylene or propylene glycol.
- Pressure stabilization in heating systems for residential buildings, agricultural facilities, and large industrial installations.
- Compatibility with closed heating-water and coolant circuits in boiler and collector systems.
IBO ITALY C.H. expansion vessels are not designed for contact with oils, solvents, chemical liquids, petroleum-based substances, or Group 1 fluids according to Directive 2014/68/EU.
Features, description, and technical data
The Dambat C.O. IBO ITALY series includes expansion vessels for heating and solar systems, available in two mounting configurations: wall-mounted vessels with capacities of 5, 8, 12, 19, and 24 liters, and floor-standing (vertical) vessels with capacities of 36, 50, 80, and 100 liters. This selection of variants allows the device to be properly matched to both small domestic installations and extensive industrial systems.
The vessel body is made of thick carbon steel coated with a protective exterior paint that provides corrosion resistance. A replaceable EPDM diaphragm, characterized by high tensile strength and resistance to continuous exposure to temperatures of up to 100°C, is installed inside the steel shell. The diaphragm completely separates the heating medium from the compressed air cushion, preventing internal corrosion of the body.
The vessels in this series are equipped with a sealed air valve that enables periodic checking and replenishment of the pre-charge pressure using a standard compressor. The hydraulic connection consists of a replaceable galvanized flange with a diameter of ¾" or 1", facilitating connection of the vessel to the existing pipe system. Using a ball valve with a union during installation allows the vessel to be fully dismantled without draining the rest of the heating system.
Technical data for the C.O. IBO ITALY series:
- Diaphragm: YES – replaceable, EPDM

- Operating pressure: 8.0 bar
- Maximum test pressure: 12.0 bar
- Operating temperature: from -10°C to 100°C
- Body: carbon steel coated with protective paint
- Flange: galvanized steel
- Compliance: PED 2014/68/EU Pressure Equipment Directive
Warranty: C.O. IBO ITALY – 3-year manufacturer's warranty. Dambat is the only authorized service provider.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – IBO ITALY C.O. expansion vessels
What are IBO ITALY C.O. expansion vessels used for?
IBO ITALY C.O. expansion vessels are designed for use in closed central heating and solar systems. Their primary function is to compensate for changes in the volume of the heating medium caused by temperature fluctuations and to continuously stabilize pressure, protecting the system against excessive pressure increases and hydraulic failures.
How does this series differ from IBO ITALY Solar C.O. solar vessels and IBO ITALY GBV diaphragm tanks?
The C.O. IBO ITALY series is dedicated to closed heating (C.O.) and solar systems, with a pre-charge pressure of 1.7 bar and an operating temperature of up to 100°C, allowing up to 50% glycol content. IBO ITALY Solar vessels are specially designed for higher stagnation temperatures (up to 130°C for short periods) and purely solar installations. GBV tanks, in turn, are vessels for water-supply systems (pressure-boosting systems), operating with a higher pre-charge pressure and intended for domestic water rather than heating medium.
Where can I purchase vessels from the C.O. IBO ITALY series?
As the manufacturer, we do not sell directly online. IBO ITALY C.O. expansion vessels are available from our commercial partners, installation wholesalers, and authorized online distributors cooperating with the Dambat brand.
What is the warranty period, and where should I report a service issue?
Expansion vessels from the C.O. IBO ITALY series are covered by a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. Dambat is the only authorized service provider – the contact form is available at dambat.pl/pages/serwis.
How should IBO ITALY C.O. expansion vessels be installed correctly?
Floor-standing vessels (36–100 l) are installed in a vertical position, while wall-mounted vessels (5–24 l) are installed horizontally on the return line to the heater.
How do I check and adjust the pre-charge pressure in the vessels?
The pressure is measured and adjusted through the sealed air valve located on the vessel. Before each measurement, the heating-medium supply must be shut off and the water pressure in the vessel reduced to zero. The pressure is replenished using a standard compressor. The factory pre-charge pressure for the series is 3.5 bar (±10%).
Are the vessels suitable for systems containing glycol?
Yes – IBO ITALY C.O. expansion vessels are approved for use with mixtures of water and ethylene or propylene glycol, provided that the glycol content does not exceed 50%. The devices are not designed for contact with oils, solvents, chemical liquids, petroleum-based substances, or Group 1 fluids according to Directive 2014/68/EU.
