Abyssinka - hand pump
The IBO Abyssinka hand pump is a cast-iron piston pump for drawing technically clean, cold raw water from underground sources, before its possible treatment. It works only with the power of human hands, without access to electricity, which makes it suitable for use in allotments and gardens. The simple, durable structure and classic, green appearance make it both functional and aesthetic garden equipment.
For whom
- Allotment gardeners and gardeners - the pump allows you to draw water for irrigation without access to electricity.
- Owners of houses with a garden - manual extraction of raw water from an Abyssinian well is a convenient addition to the water supply network for garden and household purposes.
- Lovers of garden arrangements - the classic cast iron form is a decorative element in the garden.
- Farms beyond the reach of electricity - a simple structure provides access to raw water in places without electrical installation.
Application
The Abisynka hand pump is used to draw technically clean, cold raw water from underground sources on plots, gardens and wherever there is no access to electricity. It cooperates with Abyssinian wells and shallow water intakes from which raw water is collected for irrigation and farm work, before its possible treatment. The pump is not a water treatment device - if water from your own intake is to be used for food purposes, it must be properly treated and quality controlled.
Pumping is carried out thanks to the work of a piston mounted with a leather insert in the body, moved by a steel cable and an external lever. The pump is mounted vertically, and for suction heights above 2 m, a suction strainer with a valve is used. Due to its aesthetic value, the Abyssinka hand pump is also a garden decoration.
Features of the Abyssinka pump
Abisynka is a cast iron piston pump with a vertical body position, in a classic, green design. The heart of the pump is a cast iron piston with a leather insert, which, together with a non-return valve, is responsible for trouble-free water suction. The entire structure is cast from cast iron, which guarantees high durability for years of use.
The pump sucks water from a depth of up to 7 m and does not require power or expensive consumables, which makes its operation almost trouble-free. The simple structure facilitates assembly and disassembly. Before the first use and after a longer downtime, the pump should be filled with water, and before the frost period it should be emptied of water to prevent it from bursting.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – Abisynka hand pump
What is the Abyssinka hand pump used for?
The IBO Abyssinka hand pump is used to collect technically clean, cold raw water from underground sources on plots and gardens, before its possible treatment. It operates without access to electricity, drawing water from Abyssinian wells and shallow intakes.
How does the classic Abyssinka differ from the decorative version?
The classic Abyssinian has a simple, green design, while the decorative version is black and covered with ornaments. Both pumps have the same technical parameters and operate identically - only their appearance differs.
From what depth will the Abyssinka suck water?
Suction capacity Abisynka pump is up to 7 m. When the suction height exceeds 2 m, a suction basket with a valve should be used at the end of the suction pipe, which makes it easier to keep water in the system.
How to protect the Abyssinka pump against winter?
When the temperature drops below 0 °C, drain the water from the system or dismantle the pump after use. Leaving the water in may cause it to freeze and, consequently, crack and burst the cast iron body.
How to install the Abyssinka hand pump?
The pump is installed vertically, with the discharge port facing downwards, connecting the holes in the base with the flange of the suction pipeline with screws. Before first use and after a longer downtime, fill the pump with water.
Where can you buy the Abyssinka hand pump?
As a manufacturer, we do not sell directly. The IBO Abyssinka hand pump can be purchased from our trading partners, installation wholesalers and authorized online distributors.
What warranty is covered by the Abisynka pump?
The IBO Abyssinka hand pump is covered by a 24-month (2-year) manufacturer's warranty. Warranty and post-warranty service is provided by Dambat.
