5" SD 20-11 - submersible pump
The IBO 5" SD submersible pump is a multistage design with increased sand resistance, intended for drawing and pumping raw water in single-family and multifamily homes, farms, and industrial installations. The gray cast-iron body and AISI 304 stainless-steel components ensure durable operation in deep wells, while the floating impellers reduce the effects of periodic sand contamination and extend the service life of the unit.
Who it is for
-
Farms and horticultural operations – the high hydraulic capacity facilitates supplying irrigation systems, sprinklers, and drip lines over larger areas.
-
Multifamily buildings and facilities with increased water demand – the wide power range within the series makes it possible to select a model suited to the scale of the installation.
-
Industrial plants and drainage installations – the increased sand resistance is useful with periodically sand-contaminated water and continuous operation.
-
Installers and drilling companies – the two-part design, with the motor and hydraulic section supplied separately, facilitates transport and installation in deep wells.
Applications
The 5" SD series is intended for drawing and pumping technically clean raw water from drilled deep-water wells for single-family and multifamily homes, farms, irrigation systems, and industrial and drainage installations. The design's increased sand resistance allows it to handle water containing up to 5% sand. The pump is not a water-treatment device – when using it for other purposes, we recommend ensuring appropriate water preparation.
The pumps operate in a vertical position, in wells with a minimum internal diameter of 145 mm, at a maximum pumped-water temperature of 35°C. The 5" SD 400 V submersible pump is compatible with standard pressure tanks, pressure-control systems, and dry-run protection devices selected for the well conditions.
Features of the 5" SD series
IBO 5" SD series pumps share a common multistage design and identical construction materials regardless of the model. Individual variants differ only in their operating point on the common performance curve – therefore, selecting a model involves matching the well parameters and water demand, without changing the installation or operating requirements.
The thermal protection built into the motor winding protects the drive against overload, while the motor's oil cooling ensures stable operation in continuous-duty mode.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – IBO 5" SD submersible pump
What is the difference between the 5" SD 20 and 5" SD 32 models?
The “20" and “32" designations refer to the hydraulic capacity – the 20 models achieve greater head at a lower flow rate, while the 32 models provide greater flow at a lower head. The choice depends on the well parameters and water demand, not on build quality – both groups have identical designs and materials.
What installations is the 5" SD submersible pump suitable for?
The pump is suitable for drawing and pumping raw water in single-family and multifamily homes, farms, irrigation systems, and industrial and drainage installations. It requires a water source with a low level of contamination – the permissible sand content is a maximum of 5%.
How do I select a 5" SD series pump model for a well?
Model selection depends on the static and dynamic water levels, the required head, and the installation's water demand. The series includes models with different power ratings and capacities, making it possible to match a pump both to small domestic water sources and to larger agricultural or industrial installations. If in doubt, we encourage you to contact the technical department.
Can the 5" SD pump handle water containing sand?
Yes – the series has increased resistance to sand contents of up to 5%, but regularly pumping sand-contaminated water may shorten the service life of the unit and installation.
Where can I buy an IBO 5" SD submersible pump?
Dambat does not sell directly. Pumps from the 5" SD series are available from commercial partners, installation wholesalers, and authorized online distributors.
What warranty terms apply to the 5" SD pump?
IBO – 24-month (2-year) manufacturer's warranty. Dambat provides warranty and post-warranty service.
