Description
4" FP4 Q040 – 400 V multistage submersible pump
The 4" FP4 Q040 submersible pump from IBO ITALY is a multistage Italian design made entirely of stainless steel, intended for drawing and pumping raw water in single- and multi-family homes, farms, and industrial and fire-protection systems. DRY RUN PRO technology increases resistance to seizure in the event of dry running, while the option of horizontal or vertical installation provides greater installation flexibility.
Who it is for
- Owners of single- and multi-family homes – the series’ wide range of power and capacity makes it possible to select a model suited to the well depth and water demand.
- Farms and horticultural operations – the higher-capacity models in the series supply irrigation systems, sprinklers, and drip lines.
- Industrial and fire-protection systems – the all-stainless-steel construction and option of horizontal operation are suitable for non-standard installation arrangements.
- Installers – the option of ordering a cable with a length selected in 5 m increments makes it easier to adapt the pump to the depth of a specific well.
Applications
The 4" FP4 series is designed for drawing and pumping technically clean raw water from drilled deep-water wells for single- and multi-family homes, farms, irrigation systems, fire-protection systems, industrial applications, and drainage. The construction tolerates sand content of up to 185 g/m³. The pump is not a water-treatment device – when using it for other purposes, we recommend ensuring appropriate water preparation.
The pumps operate in a vertical or horizontal position, in wells with a minimum internal diameter of 115 mm, at a maximum pumped-water temperature of 35°C. The 4" FP4 230 V / 400 V submersible pump is compatible with standard pressure tanks and pressure-control systems.
Features of the 4" FP4 series
The 4" FP4 series pumps are made entirely of AISI 304 stainless steel – including the suction-discharge body, housing, shaft, and rotor – ensuring resistance to corrosion under typical operating conditions. The impeller and diffuser are made of polymer (PPO), while the mechanical seal uses a SiC/SiC/NBR arrangement. Built-in floating impellers and a check valve limiting the return of water from the system complete the design.
DRY RUN PRO technology increases the motor’s resistance to seizure in the event of brief dry running. The 230 V version is supplied with a start box containing a capacitor and overcurrent protection, as well as thermal protection built into the motor winding.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ) – 4" FP4 submersible pump
What type of well is the 4" FP4 submersible pump suitable for?
The pump is designed for wells with a minimum internal diameter of 115 mm. Before purchasing, it is worth checking the actual diameter of the borehole to avoid installation problems or motor overheating.
What distinguishes the 4" FP4 pump?
The pump uses DRY RUN PRO technology, which increases resistance to seizure in the event of brief dry running, and can be installed both vertically and horizontally. Built-in floating impellers and a check valve further extend the service life of the device.
How does the 4" FP4 pump differ from the IBO 4" SD pump?
Both series have similar applications and diameters, but they differ in the body material – the 4" FP4 has a suction-discharge body made entirely of stainless steel, while the 4" SD uses brass for this component. The choice also depends on whether horizontal installation is required, which is available only in the 4" FP4 series.
How do I choose the right 4" FP4 pump model for my needs?
The choice of model depends on the well depth and the amount of water needed simultaneously – the series includes a wide range of variants with different heads and capacities, from modest domestic needs to larger agricultural and industrial systems. If in doubt, we encourage you to contact the technical department.
Where can I buy a 4" FP4 submersible pump?
Dambat does not sell directly. 4" FP4 series pumps are available from commercial partners, installation wholesalers, and authorized online distributors.
What warranty conditions apply to the 4" FP4 pump?
IBO ITALY – 36 months (3 years) manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty and post-warranty service is provided by Dambat.
