Horizontal diaphragm tanks, type 24–150, are used to store water in water supply systems. IBO diaphragm tanks are designed to stabilize water pressure and increase the effective volume of the water supply system. They are used in conjunction with pumps whose parameters correspond to those of the tank. The tanks are made of thick carbon steel and coated with a special anti-corrosion lacquer. Inside the tanks are EPDM rubber diaphragms, forming a membrane between the water inside and the outer shell of the tank. Compressed air is located between the membrane and the tank housing; under pressure, it forces water out of the tank. Using these tanks in pressure booster sets can reduce the number of pump starts during a given period, which positively affects the service life of the entire system. Additionally, type 50 and type 100 tank models are available with a built-in pressure gauge. The volume of water inside is the difference between the volume of the housing and the volume of air surrounding the membrane.
The tanks are equipped with a special valve for pumping air into or releasing air from the tank—a valve identical to those used in car tires, located at the rear of the tank under the cover. IBO diaphragm tanks are pressure equipment that meets the requirements of Directive 2014/68/EU.
Application
Combined with surface or submersible pumps, they form pressure booster sets designed to supply water from private water intakes to plots of land, single- and multi-family homes, farms, and businesses.
