Horizontal diaphragm pressure tanks, made of AISI 304 stainless steel, types 24–100, are used to store water in water supply systems. The tank shell and flange are made of stainless steel. IBO diaphragm tanks are designed to stabilize water pressure and increase the effective volume of water supply systems. They are intended for use with pumps whose parameters correspond to those of the tank. Stainless steel construction allows the tank to be installed in wells and damp rooms without the risk of accelerated corrosion. Inside the tanks are EPDM rubber diaphragms, forming a membrane between the water inside and the tank’s outer shell. Compressed air is located between the membrane and the tank housing; under pressure, it forces water out of the tank. Using these tanks in hydrophore systems can reduce the number of pump starts over a given period, which has a beneficial effect on the service life of the entire system. In addition, types 50 and 100 are available with a built-in pressure gauge. The volume of water inside is the difference between the volume of the housing and the volume of air surrounding the membrane.
The tanks are equipped with a special valve for adding or releasing air from the tank—a valve identical to those used in car tires, located at the rear of the tank under the cover.
IBO diaphragm tanks are pressure equipment that meets the requirements of Directive 2014/68/EU.
Application
Combined with surface or submersible pumps, they form hydrophore systems intended to supply water from private water intakes to plots, single- and multi-family homes, farms, and businesses.
