Deep well pumps are placed in wells wherever there is no possibility of connecting to the water supply. This way, water can be safely delivered to the building. They are used primarily when the water level in the well is below eight meters, in the aquifer. Pumps are selected according to the type of well; dug or drilled and to the maximum water demand and the minimum pressure required. Their efficiency is very important, but not only that. Check what it means and what other parameters should be taken into account when choosing a device.

What does the efficiency of a deep well mean and what does it depend on?

The performance we offer deep well pumps, i.e. the flow rate needed to cover the water demand in a given household, depends on the device model. It is selected according to the water demand, assuming that all water receivers will not be turned on at the same time. Also remember that the efficiency of the pump should be lower than the efficiency of the well, which is why its appropriate design is so important. Exceeding the permissible capacity leads to damage to the filter and, consequently, the inability to continue using the well. In a single-family house inhabited by four or five people, the hydrophore capacity should be around 1-3 m3.3/h.

What is lifting height?

Another important parameter is the lifting height it consists of level difference between the submersible pump and the highest located receiver. Linear and local losses will also be needed to calculate the head. They are created when liquids rub against the inner surface of pipes and when changing the direction of flow. If located close to the house, local and linear losses will constitute up to 20% of the geometric lifting height.

When choosing a submersible pump, you must not forget about factors such as the type of well, its depth and distance from the residential facility. The height of the facility, how many people will use the water and whether it will also be used to water the garden are important.
