Single-family houses that do not have access to water and sewage connections are forced to obtain water in other ways. The solution may be a submersible pump, thanks to which we obtain water from wells located deep underground. It is worth determining the construction of the well and the installation at the house design stage, which will avoid complications in the future.
Well performance test
It is one of the activities that should be performed by the team constructing the well. The test is not difficult, and it may be crucial for the entire test installation. The crew should check its efficiency before pumping water for at least an hour, and the intensity of water extraction should exceed the expected demand. Test drawing of water This is not only a great test, but also the possibility of arranging the filtration layers in the aquifer. It guarantees increased water purity and ensures the pump's efficiency for future users.
Water quality
We know how important a performance test is submersible pump. It is equally important water quality delivered to users' homes. Therefore, when drilling a well, it is worth performing tests to assess the quality of the extracted water. Specialists should check it out transparency, smell, taste, softness and composition of chemical compounds, including iron. The above-mentioned properties affect, for example, the soap's foaming ability or the formation of unsightly deposits on the fittings. If any irregularities are detected, it is worth considering an additional water conditioner that will clean it of harmful substances and ensure good quality water.
Electrical cable protection
A common mistake when installing a submersible pump is: lack of protection of the electric cable, which powers the submersible pump. The cable must not be exposed to overload. Therefore, to avoid failure, attach it to the extruded pipe using plastic clamps. They will reduce the stresses that cause the cable to stretch under the weight of the pump.
Three-phase pump instead of single-phase
Each start of the pump causes a momentary load of the installation with a current much higher than the standard starting current. Typically, in single-phase motors, the current can reach up to 30 A, which may cause its rapid failure if the pump is used frequently. Therefore, for higher powers it should be installed pumps with three-phase motor, which will enable free current flow and have a positive effect on the operation of the entire system.
