KBFU 100-5.5 T is a three-phase pump Sludge with a power of 5.5 kW, powered by 400 V with a DN 4" connection, equipped with a chrome alloy agitator and achieving a capacity of 2200 l/min. The model is intended for intensive dewatering works with thick sludge - where the pump alone without a bottom mixer is not able to effectively suck in the sedimenting sludge.

Application
The KBFU 100-5.5 T model is intended primarily for pumping media with sludge that settles at the bottom of a tank or trench and requires active mixing before suction. A chrome alloy agitator mounted under the impeller sets the sludge in swirling motion - it breaks up the aggregates, liquefies the suspensions and allows them to be sucked in without the risk of blocking the hydraulics. This application is not available for standard models of the KBFU series without an agitator.
A key element of the design is the cooling jacket surrounding the engine. Thanks to it, the pump does not have to be completely immersed in the pumped medium to maintain a safe operating temperature - the engine is cooled by the jacket wall even when the liquid level in the tank is very low. Thermal protection built into the motor winding provides an additional layer of protection against overheating during long-term continuous operation.

What is the difference between KBFU 100-5.5 T and KBFU 100-3.7 T?
The 100-5.5 T model has higher power (5.5 vs 3.7 kW), higher efficiency (2200 vs 1650 l/min), higher lift (23 vs 18.5 m) and - the key difference - is equipped with an agitator. This is the choice for heavier applications with thick sludge, where the 3.7 T model without a mixer may be insufficient.
What is the agitator used for in the KBFU 100-5.5 T pump?
The agitator is a bottom mixer mounted under the pump impeller. It sets the sludge into swirling motion, breaking up aggregates and liquefying suspensions at the inlet. Without an agitator, thick sediments would sediment at the bottom of the tank, making it much difficult or impossible for them to be sucked in by the impeller.
Can KBFU 100-5.5 T be used in settling ponds?
Yes - the combination of an agitator and a capacity of 2200 l/min works well when emptying sludge tanks. Make sure that the chemical composition of the medium is within the permissible parameters for cast iron and stainless steel - in case of doubt, we recommend contacting the Dambat technical department.
