Do czego służą zbiorniki przeponowe?

Diaphragm tanks are membrane expansion vessels that protect water supply systems against sudden pressure increase. They are used in closed heating, solar and refrigerated installations and ensure their proper functioning. Pressure diaphragm vessels are also used in installations used to increase the medium pressure and supply water supply. The dish takes excess water pressure when necessary.

Diaphragm tanks. Characteristics and construction

Diaphones are metal cylindrical vessels, made of standard steel or stainless steel with increased corrosion resistance. Inside them there is a diaphragm made of thermo -resistant EPDM gum (ethylene -propylene rubber), which can be used in a wide temperature range, from -40 ° C to even +120 ° C. The EPDM rubber diaphragm is not only resistant to high temperatures, but also to water vapor, ozone or weather conditions. The alternative is SBR gum. The diaphragm has a membrane structure with a sack structure and separates a liquid medium from gas filling the tank. The water space is connected to the installation with a connection. Outside the diaphragm tank there is a valve with which you can fill or drop gas and thus level the pressure. Diaphones are available on the market in various volume variants from 24 liters to even 300 liters.

Diaphones. Application and principle of operation

Diaphones stabilize the pressure in water supply systems and compensate for the thermal expansion of water. In the tact of temperature lesions, the pressure of the liquid changes and thus its volume changes. Diaphones protect the liquid against uncontrolled pressure increase and thus compensate for the differences in the volume of liquid. In the event of an increase in the volume of liquid, the condensed gas is pushed up by a deformed membrane, and its place is taken by liquid. In this way, the diaphragm tank takes over excess liquid and levels the pressure. After a decrease in temperature, the detained liquid is pushed back to the installation and the gas expands. Excess water from the installation is taken by automatic mechanisms. The task of diaphragmatic tanks is to secure the installation against failures and damage as a result of uncontrolled temperature increase. They maintain the installation parameters within certain limits, primarily pressure at the permissible level. They also increase the active volume of the water supply system and suppress hydrodynamic strikes. The use of diaphragm tanks significantly increases pump life.

Diaphragm tanks most often cooperate with central heating installations and heat pumps in the heating systems of residential buildings. The diaphragm tank is also an integral element of hydrophore sets, whose task is to maintain constant water pressure. In solar installations, however, the diaphragm tank can be additionally used to store the working liquid. Diaphones can be used not only to stabilize the pressure, but also to degass the installation or supplement water cavities.
