Circulation pumps are one of the most important elements of a modern heating system. Generally speaking, their main task is to cause liquid flow in the circulation of heating installations, and thus increasing the effectiveness of such a system. However, many people wonder if the use of a circulation pump is necessary? And if so, in what situation? And what is worth paying attention to? We discuss this topic in our article.
Circulation pump - when should it be used?
The circulation pump is a way to solve many problemswhich had previously remained unanswered. For example, in older installations, the process of heating the rooms was based on the natural buoyancy strength resulting from the difference in hot and cold water density. However, such functioning was associated with numerous restrictions, including with a specific construction of the entire installation. The methods used previously were also associated with:
- the need to place the boiler lower than the radiators,
- with the need to choose pipes with relatively large diameters,
- It is necessary to properly arrange the pipes to reduce flow resistance.
The solution to the problems listed above, and at the same time by the method tailored to the growing expectations of customers, became the use of circulation pumps. Why? Their use allows you to eliminate the most common difficulties, such as poor heating or uneven heat distribution. The pump allows for excellent efficiency, and even when our installation has been designed incorrectly or carelessly. The use of a high -quality circulation pump also allows you to solve the problem of stone pipes, and thus the issue of reducing their bandwidth, which is characteristic of older constructions.
One or two devices?
Depending on our needs, we can use one or two separate devices that will increase the efficiency of our heating installation. The final decision should depend primarily on the size of the entire system and its diversity. In the case of single -family houses, one well -chosen circulation pump. However, if we are owners of a building with both radiators and other heat sources, such as underfloor heating, it is advisable to use additional support, i.e. two pumps.
It is also worth adding that in strategic facilities, in which there must be no break in the supply of heat, it is recommended to use the so -called dual systems. This means the need to create a system consisting of a basic pump and a reserve pump.
What are the benefits of using circulation pumps?
The use of circulation pumps is distinguished by numerous advantages. Some of them are:
- high performance, which means greater savings and lower costs incurred in connection with heating,
- no need to plan the radiators vertically and ensure a minimum distance from the boiler,
- the possibility of more flexible extension of the heating system,
- the possibility of using modern thermostatic valves,
- extremely easy temperature adjustment in all rooms,
- faster and more even heating of radiators, and thus rooms,
- high performance, quiet work and reliability confirmed by opinions,
sense of comfort.
